Town of Cable

The quaint town of Cable serves as the central hub of Southern Bayfield County. The Bayfield County Sheriff and Zoning Departments both have satellite offices in Cable, saving residents of the second largest county in Wisconsin the one hour drive to the county seat in Washburn. The Cable Post Office serves the towns of Cable and Namakagon. Cable also has the distinction of co-hosting the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival and the American Birkebeiner Ski Race. The Cable Union Airport, which is jointly owned by the towns of Cable, Drummond and Namakagon is also located in Cable. The Cable Natural History Museum, the Cable/Namakagon Historical Society, Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival Headquarters and the Forest Lodge Library are also located within the town of Cable.

Cable also offers the regions only full service grocery and hardware store. Rondeau’s Shopping Center offers a fresh bakery, full service deli, butcher, paint center and hunting and fishing supplies. The area’s only full service laundromat is also located in Cable.
