SNOWMOBILE REPORT

Warning! ⚠️ Due to the extreme fluctuations in temperature over the past few weeks a large ice heave has developed at the opening between Garden Lake & Namakagon, just off of Duck Point. This is the stretch that leads to Hank’s Landing. Please use extreme caution! It is especially hard to see if it is snowing or blowing. The Stick Trail has been moved to avoid this hazard. STAY ON THE TRAILS!

The groomer is out! Let the season begin! Better late than never. She went to Grandview and will traveling around the Namakagon System. Feb 7th, 2025

2 inches of fresh snow fell early this morning! Keep it up! 11/25/24

Snowing off and on over the last couple of days! Cold weather moving in the next few days so hopefully we can get the lakes nice and froze up!  12/10/24

Still waiting for Mother Nature and Old Man Winter to stop feuding and give us the beautiful white gold. But you can still ATV/UTV right now, all the trails in Bayfield County are still open! 1/8/25

We were lucky enough to get about 5 inches of snow yesterday, Sunday Jan 12th. But as of right now we still do not have enough to start panning the trail system. We need another nice snowfall! 1/13/25

Another 4-5 inches of snow over night in the Cable and Namakagon area with more forecasted for Saturday 🙂   2/6/25

Mother Nature is finally blessing us with the beautiful white snow! Another 5-6 inches fell Friday night into Saturday morning so all area trails are looking much better! 2/10/25

Another 6 inches of beautiful fluffy white gold fell Friday 2/14 and most of the day Sat 2/15!

MOUNTAIN/FAT BIKE TRAIL REPORT

  • CAMBA – Ashwabay Cluster OPEN

Trails were groomed Saturday (2/8) evening. Not much to report other than the trail is looking good. Signs have been put out to help guide the way to the top of the hill. You should probably get out there!

  • CAMBA – Cable Cluster OPEN

Cable town trails – groomed 2/15 pm
Wild river trail – groomed 2/15 pm

  • CAMBA – Hayward Cluster OPEN
    Hatchery – groomed 2/16 pm
    Hospital – groomed 2/16 pm
  • CAMBA – Namakagon Cluster OPEN

We currently do not groom the Namakagan cluster of trails for winter riding, so keep in mind that while many trails may be track-packed, you might encounter downed trees or debris along the way. However, we are actively discussing the possibility of winter trail expansion with the Forest Service, which shows promise for the future. Given that this area is remote, it’s essential to inform someone about your riding plans or, even better, ride with a friend to enhance safety and enjoyment. Your adventure awaits—be prepared and safe out there!

  • CAMBA – Seeley Cluster OPEN

Makawa south – groomed 2/16 pm
Seeley pass – groomed 2/15 pm
Seeley hills – groomed 2/15 pm

Reminder to all that both the Birkie skate and classic trails will be closed to public use starting at 11:59pm tonight, 2/16/25. We please ask all to ski at our loops at Mount Telemark Village, or one of the many other local options like the North End Trails, Seeley Hills trails, and the Hospital Trais. We need to keep traffic off the trail as much as possible to preserve snowpack in the south, and we will be grooming at all hours and need the space to do our work safely. Thank you!
Drummond Open Rolled Fair The 4-5 inches of new snow were rolled and track was set on all of the Drummond Ski Trails. Conditions have improved from marginal to better than mediocre and almost good in some places. There are places on the far end of the NCT loop that have whips still standing that weren’t covered.  I guess winter is finally trying to arrive. All afternoon You could hear the buzzing of snowmobiles on their trails, as well.

A special thanks to John and Tom for coming out on such short notice to tune up our trails. This was the first real grooming in two years.
