Warning! Due to the extreme fluctuations in temperature over the past few weeks a large ice heave has developed at the opening between Garden Lake & Namakagon, just off of Duck Point. This is the stretch that leads to Hank’s Landing. Please use extreme caution! It is especially hard to see if it is snowing or blowing. The Stick Trail has been moved to avoid this hazard. STAY ON THE TRAILS!
The groomer is out! Let the season begin! Better late than never. She went to Grandview and will traveling around the Namakagon System. Feb 7th, 2025
It is considered early season riding so please be cautious.
2 inches of fresh snow fell early this morning! Keep it up! 11/25/24
Snowing off and on over the last couple of days! Cold weather moving in the next few days so hopefully we can get the lakes nice and froze up! 12/10/24
Still waiting for Mother Nature and Old Man Winter to stop feuding and give us the beautiful white gold. But you can still ATV/UTV right now, all the trails in Bayfield County are still open! 1/8/25
We were lucky enough to get about 5 inches of snow yesterday, Sunday Jan 12th. But as of right now we still do not have enough to start panning the trail system. We need another nice snowfall! 1/13/25
Another 4-5 inches of snow over night in the Cable and Namakagon area with more forecasted for Saturday 🙂 2/6/25
Mother Nature is finally blessing us with the beautiful white snow! Another 5-6 inches fell Friday night into Saturday morning so all area trails are looking much better! 2/10/25

The Ashwabay Fat trail is groomed, with excellent conditions thanks to a fresh layer of snow on a solid base. Remember to adjust your tire pressure. Please note that the ridge top trail extending west from the ski hill is currently mothballed and has not been cleared this year. Due to melting and refreezing, there are icy spots, so we recommend using studded tires for safety and enjoyment.
Recent precipitation: 3.9″
The Cable Trails and Wild River Trail are both groomed and ready for riding! The snow is soft, but the conditions are great. Many trails are well-packed and in excellent shape. However, there are a few icy spots due to melting and refreezing. For your safety and enjoyment, we strongly recommend using studded tires.
Recent precipitation: 2.4″
Gateway trails are too low on snow to groom but ridden in and in decent condition and perfectly packed for fat biking! The Fish Hatchery Trails are all track-packed. Remember, there are some icy spots from melting and refreezing, so we strongly encourage using studded tires for your safety and maximum enjoyment. Don’t miss out on this incredible adventure on the trails!

We currently do not groom the Namakagan cluster of trails for winter riding, so keep in mind that while many trails may be track-packed, you might encounter downed trees or debris along the way. However, we are actively discussing the possibility of winter trail expansion with the Forest Service, which shows promise for the future. Given that this area is remote, it’s essential to inform someone about your riding plans or, even better, ride with a friend to enhance safety and enjoyment. Your adventure awaits—be prepared and safe out there!

Seeley Pass is groomed from OO to Bodecker, and it’s all riding nicely. There is an additional groomed trail utilizing Martel’s Pothole trail near Dirty Dozen. Suggest lower pressure because the terrain north of Roam to Bodecker is soft. Gordy’s west and east are in excellent shape!

Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the Birkie Trail south of Gravel Pit to preserve snow as we continue to evaluate snowfall in various low-snow areas of the trail. |
Drummond | Open | Rolled | Fair | The 4-5 inches of new snow were rolled and track was set on all of the Drummond Ski Trails. Conditions have improved from marginal to better than mediocre and almost good in some places. There are places on the far end of the NCT loop that have whips still standing that weren’t covered. I guess winter is finally trying to arrive. All afternoon You could hear the buzzing of snowmobiles on their trails, as well.
A special thanks to John and Tom for coming out on such short notice to tune up our trails. This was the first real grooming in two years. |
