Live Music: Pianist Alexander Sandor

The Park Center will present a concert by Alexander Sandor, a professional concert pianist, educator, and celebrated performer in the ragtime community. Sandor serves as President of the Lake Superior Ragtime Society, Principal Pianist for the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra and the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, and as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin- Superior.

Renowned for his artistry and passion for ragtime, Sandor has been a featured soloist at festivals across the country, including the prestigious Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival. He has also performed concertos with orchestras throughout the Midwest, including the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra.

As an educator, Sandor maintains a thriving piano studio where his students have achieved notable success, winning the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association Badger Competition, excelling in ragtime contests, and performing in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed musicians.

Alexander Sandor holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from UW-Superior. Recently, he was awarded a grant to record his composition, Joe Sandor Songs, for baritone and piano, now available on his YouTube channel. In his free time, Sandor is an avid cyclist, embracing the road as a source of inspiration and balance.
