Art Class: Drawing Flowers

In this three-session, weekly class, observe and interpret flowers using your own close-up photos, images from garden catalogs, or real flowers. Draw along with the instructor as she demonstrates different techniques during each session. Practice using pencil and a drawing pen to explore the art element of line. Use a water-soluble pen and a brush dipped in water to capture the form of the flower. She’ll show you how to create a watercolor wash with permanent pen to create whimsical, fun works of art. You may also use watercolor pencils with drawing pen and/or regular color pencils to capture the visual essence of vibrant flowers. You’ll have the opportunity to share your work during class.
