Glacial Geology of the Esker Trail (Master Naturalist Advanced Training)

July 7, 2021 - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Join Northland College geology professor Dave Ullman to look into the belly of a massive subglacial snake (that’s the esker)! Hike a little of The Esker mountain bike trail, and climb to the glacially shaped summit of Mount Telemark, all while talking about this area’s glacial history. Meet at the Cable Natural History Museum at 9:00 a.m. to caravan to a field site. Return by noon. Dress for the weather and be prepared for short, steep hikes on rough trails. Bring snacks and water. You don’t have to be a certified Master Naturalist to participate! Any adult learners are welcome. Register by July 2 by calling 715-798-3890 or go to cablemuseum.org. Cost is $20 member/$25 non-member. Social distancing guidelines will be practiced.
