Trail Updates -- Posted on Wednesday, March 5 2008

The warm weather and the rain did some real damage, but only to certain areas. The Lake Namakagon Area and to the East are still in good condition. Trail 70 from the lake to Cable is 50% ice and dirt making it impossible to groom, but is still considered ride able. Trail 15 from Telemark to Grand View is in fair condition with a few bare spots but still ride able. Light snow is in the forecast for today, Thursday, and Saturday. There is still lots of snowmobile activity happening in the Cable Area this weekend, so put the sleds on the trailer and head north!

Snowmobile Trails are GREAT! -- Posted on Monday, January 14 2008

Snowmobiling in the Cable Area is GREAT! The Namakagon Trail Groomers have done a fantastic job at grooming our trail system. Riders have reported our trail systems to be some of the best riding they’ve had in a long time. Trails have a 6 or 8 inch solid packed base and all area lakes are completely frozen with no slush. Riders are cautioned to be careful on Lake Namakagon due to frozen moguls and on trail corners. Temperatures this week are forecasted to be very cold and below zero at times. If you plan on riding be prepared for frigid temperatures.

Keep doing your snow dance! -- Posted on Monday, January 7 2008

Due to unseasonably warm weather in the past few days, snow on the trails has been compacted. Don’t fret too much; this could be a good thing! The temperatures are dropping again meaning the snow that we do have will become a great base! Each day this week, the local weather calls for a slight chance of snow showers. Everyone keep doing the snow dance and you’ll be in the Cable Area riding again in no time!
