Use pastel sticks (not oil pastels) to explore the way the earth and sky interact with one another in the landscape. Use your own photos of any season as subject matter to practice softening edges in the background, creating the illusion of three-dimensional space. Use vivid colors with more contrasts of lights and darks to exaggerate the foreground, to bring attention to the center of interest. You’ll have the opportunity to experience is helpful. Please note: This class is being offered two days in a row; sign up for one or both. Bring your lunch or order from a local catering establishment in class.
To register for any of these classes, please phone Denise at WITC Ashland – 715-682-4591, ext. 3182 (she is often willing to start a wait list if a class is filled). You may also phone WITC Hayward 715-634-5167 to sign up. The supply lists are posted at www.witc.edu/supplies. I will email the welcome letter and supply list to you one week before a class takes place. IF you don’t hear from me, please contact me. (Diana – 715-798-3619, oiabms@cheqnet.net)
